A kinetic collage of interwoven sounds, genres and images (from distinctive video artist Ben Mastwyk), a Foreign Birds live performance is a unique experience.
Although their live sightings have to date been rare, the release of their debut album A Life Like This will soon see that changed. It features nine polished, complex tracks, all of which will be showcased live over the coming months in various Melbourne venues.
A percentage of profits from the LP (released on the band’s own label, Earth Bound Sound) will be donated to the protection of old growth forests.

The Foreign Birds sound can be found in the space between sleep and consciousness. Interwoven melodies created by diverse instrumentation guide the listener into a semi-dream state. The live shows combine immersive sounds with the ambient images of video artist Ben Mastwyk, providing a feast for the senses. The self-funded debut album, A Life Like This, will be released with a DVD.
Travelling members and other band commitments have meant that to date, sightings of Foreign Birds have been fleeting. With the release of the debut album, “A Life Like This”, Foreign Birds can be seen and heard at various Melbourne venues, The album will be released through the band’s label Earth Bound Sound, with a percentage of profits donated to the protection of old growth forests.
